Re: The Vast Error Thread
I'm sure it will be explored, but the burning question I have about that is the term itself: Are souls in Repiton but a concept, or is it a tangible object trolls are aware of? Because, in page 417, the description is "a power all trolls on this planet believe they have dwelling strongly within the...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
Murrit is said to "own Dismas's soul", but what exactly does this ownership entail? Is this a mere figure of speech, or does it hold deeper significance? Another thing I'd like to know about is the status of their relationship, as the wiki says that the 2 have "physically coupled" but no such infor...

It's mentioned on page 572 that it clasps and unclasps because it's especially made for her. She doesn't pull it over her head or anything.bathtimebird wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 3:29 amHow does she take off the helmet? Wouldn't her horns get in the way?

Re: IS Act 8 good.
Act 8 was my first major forray into a legitimate Homestuck project and I will always consider it to be the first major thing that got me on the map and allowed me to do many other things, including writing and art work for Act Omega and even Vast Error as a whole. I'm very happy to see it continuin...

Re: IS Act 8 good.
Oh my god you quoted Shinji's rant with John's rant in page 214 omg I love you and I love this story. Oh hey, that was me actually. I helped make that a reality. I remember being very proud of myself, on top of a neverending sea of very shitty and very buff drawings of John that I made during group...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
This feels like something I should address, one abrasive e-funnyman to another. You can't bottle up things under a layer of apathy forever. Sooner or later that apathy is going to come out, leaking it's disgusting sticky apathy fluids all over the place. It's best to take action, or you'll end up r...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
I will be responding to folks again later tonight after I take care of a few other things. I have a burger waiting for me this time, and it is beckoning. NOTE: I have "house sauce" on this burger. All sauces that are like "special" or "den" or "all-american" or whatever, it's always 1000 island. Do ...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
I've actually really enjoyed Vast Error for what it's given, the focus on characters and explaining the world and giving out these little bits of information we'd not otherwise get suits a very good niche for me, as it's a lot of what I wanted and was most dissapointed about not getting in Homestuc...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
I read like 400 pages I think I didnt like the drama and most characters but the art and production value are stellar But its NOT FUNNY so it gets a 5/10 Talk to me when you get to the "you let me casually sit on your couch, therefore granting me dominance over the situation" bit, only then can we ...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
So this is a long one, so long that I don't really feel that I can talk about every single aspect within these three posts without either repeating something that either I or somebody else has already said. So I'm going to kind of half-cherrypick the bits that I feel provide new information that I c...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
Really all it depends on is what you yourself WANT the comic to be. You said up above that you see Vast Error as a more character-driven story than homestuck was on conception, but HOW much more, if that makes sense. I've noticed that while the character drama has been taking more of a front row se...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
I don't know how I feel about having to use external tools to make a story more legible. Usually you should only have to do this when translating old sumerian epics from worn, cracked cuneiform tablets. Quirks are probably the biggest VE gripe that I fully understand at all times but also elect to ...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
Personally I think Vast Error has a really big "tell not show" problem. The characters keep telling us about all of these important things about eachother and the world they live in which takes up a lot of word count space, when it could be easily as effective if they just showed us what was going ...

Hey folks, I'm currently inundated at the moment. But I have been reading everything in here, and I have been enjoying going through what you guys have to say. Regardless of if it is negative or not. I do have my OWN things to say about these posts. Which I will probably be responding to once I have...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
This comic is clearly trying to be like Homestuck visually and copies its visual style pretty closely up until the animals and it bothered me reading through. I think it's very valid to say I hate it because I do, it's like visual whiplash and throws me off with the expectation going in, especially...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
I really hate the blatantly furry designs of the lusus and Breath-Dragon thing like what the heck, what the absolute heck I can't get over this it's so distracting and ill-fitting. I don't really care about the rest of the post because it's just subjective disinterest and that's all well and good. ...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
Oh, hey, I write this thing. Honestly it feels very odd to be doing this whole forum romp again. Last time I REALLY did this was when the VE Beta started on the original MSPA Forums back in March 2011. There was a brief stint where I put Act 1 updates on Omegaupdate but it didn't really feel the sam...
