But you can skip part 5 it literally adds nothing.
Well, mostly. The idea of
Dio having children is first present here, and that becomes relevant
later into part 6

Where DIO is more relevant and the idea of him having children becomes important to the antagonist's plan. It's like Part 4 in regards to The Arrow later in the story, though the information gathered in part 4 gives good context for part 5 and part 6, its not something that couldn't have just been discussed later, since its such a minor detail of the part...besides Bites The Dust but some people refuse to believe that's a Requiem Stand, so.

Fair enough I suppose, call it tangential relevance

I know its boring but without it a lot of DIO's motivations and reservations are lost.

If we wanna talk extended Jojo media, Dio's diary is hella good. But this is kinda getting off topic

Hamon is just as interesting as stands.

Unpopular? opinion: Stardust Crusaders was boring up until the last few episodes.
You go from high-stakes puzzle fights with Aztec unicorn god-vampires in Battle Tendency, to "And then Jotaro punches it to death."
They also should have had hamon make a return in the Dio fight in SC.
Wasted potential.

I think the episodic nature and interesting abilities presented in the part more than make up for a lot of the duller aspects, such as Jotaro's personality. And if you look at a lot of it, especially the middle and latter episodes, you notice Jotaro...doesn't just punch everything away. A lot of it is Polnareff, Kakyoin, and Avdol fighting while Jotaro just kinda sits around. He certainly gets the MOST fights, but they're far between eachother.
Some of his fights are also really interesting, and either give a lot of information about how stands can function or show the full capabilities of what we already know about stands.
Part 3 definitely isn't my favorite part, though, 'cus its slow and long. But the upside is you don't spend too much on any one character or fight.

The people I went to high school with + the internet basically pulled a Homestuck on me and now I can't watch Jojo. They were just so overwhelmingly cringe and annoying that every time I read an interesting post and try to watch the show all these cringey memories come back to me and I physically can't finish.
It's given me perspective on how non-homestucks feel every time I try to push it on them though.

such as Jotaro's personality.
Jotaro has a personality?
My point is that, for all the potential that stands have, and for all the creative stuff that Battle Tendency did,
his solution was always the most boring shit.
And it happened way, way too much for my taste.
Dio, Vanilla Ice, and Horus kind of made up for it, even though Dio still died in an incredibly stupid fashion.
But still. I'll take a hard pass on most of the season.

Yeah, fair. Part 4 is significantly better with stand fights, and part 5 (while certainly nowhere near my favorite) has some real good ones in there. As far as stand parts go 3 is the second weakest.

I'd honestly argue that any of the stand fights in part three that weren't just Jotaro or featured Jotaro needing help from the other crusaders actually were decent, but anything he did on his own was an ass pull and a half

Forgot about the D'arby brothers fights.
Those were also definitely high points of Season 3.

Yeah D'arby bros are the exception to the rule.

So hey what if there was a stand based on Once in a Lifetime from Talking Heads and its function is that every time the stand user dies the stand triggers and resets the timeline to the point where the user was born, so everything is trapped in a Groundhog-Day loop for this user's lifetime and nobody knew this was even a thing.

Theoretically you could do this with Bites The Dust if you place it on a baby the second it was born and give it the instructions to activate when that person dies.
