"You are members of a sinister gang called the Midnight Crew. Your nefarious plots are serpentine in complexity. Your schemes, convoluted. You are planning a heist in your underground hideout."

Well wow. Short introduction aside. In this thread we'll speak about Spades Slick, Diamonds Droog, Hearts Boxcars and Clubs Deuce.
Personally my favorite member is Spades Slick and the Felt arc is one of the best arcs in Homestuck.
I always adored these characters because the 1920’s is a wonderful time period for its aesthetic, on top of the cool ass reveal that these characters were never human and the idea of a science-fiction cosmic alien version of 1920’s bootleggers and mobsters is just two great tastes that taste great together!
Intermission 1 is an acquired taste, if you jump into Homestuck without having read some of the other MSPA's it's hard to get into it but reading it the second time around after having finished Homestuck already makes it a very fun part
The midnight crew are great characters
Hat full of bomb head full of penis and all that
Also Diamonds Droog is the best fight me
What is a juggalo?
A juggalo
That's what it is
Well, fuck, if I know
What is a juggalo?
I don't know
But I'm down with the clown
And I'm down for life, yo
Diamonds Droog is the only character in Homestuck that always has his shit together. He doesn't even die in either the troll's universe of the post-scratch universe. Diamonds Droog is one ice-cold motherfucker.
I'm glad that we get to see multiple versions of him and the rest of the MC; wish we got the same love for the other 5 exiles
call me bpc for short. they/them, poly aromantic sapphic, Sylph of Rage
no one in homestuck except gamzee and doc scratch have ever done anything wrong
I love them too much
Not only for the 1920s aesthetic, the time power shenanigans and the parallels with Problem Sleuth, but also because the character of Spades Slick shows an iteration of Jack Noir who isn't fated to be a 100% certified asshole and actually does have a moral compass and a sense of empathy that Bec Noir and Lord Jack don't appear to have
He did bad things and he was viciously aggressive but his heart has always been in the right place and his determination could realign the earth's axis
His quasi-paternal influence on Karkat is evident specially in the Candy Epilogue, Slick is the first example of mutinous leadership he ever meets and even if almost none of their interactions were shown he left a warm impression on the troll for sure
I miss him
I wish he didn't die

The Intermission is still criminally underrated, and I'm still so thankful we got to see more of the Midnight Crew throughout the rest of Homestuck in various times/forms! Love those funky noir gangsters.
Diamonds Droog is, in fact, the best though. He was the first character I picked up to do tumblr HS rp with though, so maybe I'm a little biased.
Literally the only thing Spades Slick did wrong was fall for Doc Scratch's abuse and believe there was really no other way to make his internal pain stop. Honestly not even deciding to murder all the Felt and Lord English was a bad idea, because those guys are the black hole of evil in the story.

preach, comrade. davebros will be the first to go but felt apologists get the bullet too.
